Green Strategies of
Building Design
TGC
This module requires a lot of discipline and dedication as I was quite new to this green strategies stuffs and it took me some time tointergrate the designs into my assignments
This module requires great communication skills as the first assingment is a group assignment. We have to cooperate with each other in our respective task in order to complete the assignment in the most efficient way
This module enhanced my lifelong learning by deepening my understanding of sustainable design and refining my research and analytical skills.
Passive Green Building Case Studies Poster & Booklet
Through the Passive Green Building Case Studies assignment, I was able to understand more on how passive designs are suited for different climates such as natural ventilation, daylighting, and landscaping. This helped me learn more about sustainable architecture, especially considering their influence on spatial quality and user experience. The exercise also allowed me to develop my skills in visual as well as textual communication since we were supposed to provide an infographic and booklet that communicated our results effectively. In this regard, teamwork became very important when working with my group so that it turned out to be a useful learning process in design and cooperation.
Reflective Write up
The assignment was elaborate enough to cover both active and passive green building strategies that also stressed their usage in architectural design. Going for the visit at a green building, on the other hand, provided actual examples that supported the theories and concepts learned in class. Consequently, I applied this knowledge in my last architectural project which involved site planning, daylighting, façade design and natural ventilation that were learnt from the aforementioned case study. In my reflective write-up I discussed how these elements enhance sustainability and user experience. Therefore, through this particular undertaking my comprehension of sustainable architecture has been improved upon hence significantly affecting my future designing approach.
Passive Green Building Strategies Report (Individual) –
Integrated with Architectural Design studio Projects
The assignment offered a good chance for me to critically examine and use passive green building techniques in my final architectural design. I was able to produce an A3 report that combined text, images, infographics and other critical drawings which helped me to explore site context completely and lay down the primary sustainable design goals. The utilization of passive measures such as strategic siting, faade articulation, and natural air movement made me appreciate how these strategies affect the quality of space and user comfort. This assignment taught me on the significance of contextually sensitive designs and improved my communication skills when it comes to expressing ideas visually about sustainable architecture solutions.
